Makers Happy Hour :: Macrame Plant Hanger

We are excited to see the art of Macrame being embraced as an element of fashionable home decor again. This art form originated in the 13-century by weavers finishing off their hand loomed fabrics. Now the work of macrame artists can be seen again in home decor items, like plant hangers, pillows and wall art as well as jewelry. Artist Jessica Wilson-Thille of Anthropoloca has been refining her techniques of macrame for over 12 years, picking up her knowledge in South America and using it to help sustain her wanderlust travels through 13 countries, creating and teaching these techniques along the way. We look forward to having Jessica here again teaching basic macrame techniques and helping us each to create our own plant hanger.

This project can be completed in 1 1/2hrs to 2hrs and is great for teens through adults. Happy Hour runs Saturday from 10:30p to 12:30p.
