Historic Spring Park Inn Opens for Public Tours in Travelers Rest, SC

The Spring Park Inn, a beautifully renovated and preserved 19th-century inn and residence, is officially open for public tours. Nestled along the scenic Swamp Rabbit Trail in downtown Travelers Rest, this historic gem was built in the 1800s and is one of the few remaining examples of period architecture in the Upstate region.

“Spring Park Inn is a cultural and educational destination for visitors and locals alike and offers a rare window into the past,” said Mark Garrision, President of the Travelers Rest Historical Society. “Through these tours, we hope to connect visitors with the stories, structures, and spirit that shaped Travelers Rest.” Carefully preserved and maintained by the Travelers Rest Historical Society, the home reflects the community’s commitment to honoring and sharing its rich heritage.

Guided tours are available on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with scheduled tour times at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students ages 7–17. Tickets may be purchased online or on-site at the house’s gift shop.

In addition to guided tours, visitors may also enjoy the free public exhibit rooms on Fridays from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. These spaces feature authentic furnishings, artifacts, and immersive storytelling that highlight the daily life and historical significance of the inn and its original residents.

Group tours and educational field trips can also be scheduled by contacting Deanna Houston at events@travelersresthisoticalsocity.org or 864 483 8554.
