Wild Child Summer Arts Program
July 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
$30Welcome to the Wild Child Summer Arts Program! Get ready for a summer filled with creativity, fun, and imagination at the Wild Hare Gallery. Please read the description carefully, as there is an abundance of information.
Starting on June 3rd, we will be hosting weekly classes on Mondays from 10AM to 12PM, with the exception of the Fourth of July Weekend. The last class will be held on Monday, July 29th. This class is being offered for students between the ages of 9 & 12 years old.
The classes will be hosted by Revonda Bradshaw and Abigail Cruz Colton, and students will be guided through several artistic styles over the span of the course. Each class comes at a cost of $30 per student, however, students who are signed up for 4 or more classes will only be charged $25 per class. If selecting the 4 class pack option, please be sure to specify which dates your child will be attending.
Classes and schedule are listed below:
6/3 – Introduction to Watercolor Design & Sketching: students will be guided through learning the basics of watercolor painting and sketching to create a design
6/10 – Watercolor Gradient Bookmarks: this is a continuation of the introduction to watercolor, where students will be coached on creating gradients with watercolor to create their own bookmarks
6/17 – One Point Perspective: using a single point on a page to mimic distance. Think of buildings down a city street or a path lined with trees
6/24 – Pottery: Paint Your Own Plate: students will be taught how to paint their own plate with food safe, non-toxic glazes
7/8 – Sunflower Spice Painting: showcasing the utility of various spices such as turmeric, cinnamon, and beet powder to make their own pigments
7/15 – Pottery: Paint Your Own Bowl: students will be taught how to paint their own bowl with food safe, non-toxic glazes
7/22 – Cyanotype: making art with sunlight. Students will be making their very own sun prints by placing leaves, flowers or various other materials to create “shadows” on paper.
7/29 – Gelli Printing: with the use of a flexible gel plate, students will be taught how to print various textures and colors by layering paint and pressing onto paper
